Glenn Jones is freelance designer and Illustrator from Auckland, New Zealand. He been working in the industry for over 20 years, focusing on corporate identity, packaging and illustration. In recent years he have been concentrating on his own T-shirt brand Glennz Tees and on his collection of NZ inspired art at Glenn Jones Art as well continuing freelance illustration and design work.

Chow’s extensive portfolio include working and collaborating with AirAsia, Nike, Lotus F1, MARTELL VSOP, KLUE, and Dave Matthews Band. What drives him? He hopes his designs can bring some smile to the world.

In is art project “2D or not 2D” Moscow based photographer and artist Alexander Khokhlov has created a wonderful makeup portraits which can easily confuse our vision. He created these portraits in 2D and some of these photos might indeed do the trick with the help of Valeriya Kutsan’s professional makeup work, the natural lines of the models’ faces are almost indistinguishable.

For more then three decades multidisciplinary artist Guy Laramee has worked in creating art and instolations . Among his sculptural works are two incredible series of carved book landscapes and structures entitled Biblios and The Great Wall, where the dense pages of old books are excavated to reveal serene mountains, plateaus, and ancient structures. Of these works he says:So I carve landscapes out of books and I paint Romantic landscapes. Mountains of disused knowledge return to what they really are: mountains. They erode a bit more and they become hills. Then they flatten and become fields where apparently nothing is happening. Piles of obsolete encyclopedias return to that which does not need to say anything, that which simply IS. Fogs and clouds erase everything we know, everything we think we are.

This is a stunning piece of Art created by Alexa Meade, a 27 year-old artist who has developed an approach to portraiture that involves painting directly on top of her human subjects in a style that perceptually compresses 3D space into a 2D plane. Oleg Oprisco is a photographer based in Ukraine whose magical. In an age where realistic photo manipulations are the secret sauce behind impossible images, Oprisco’s work stands out for one simple mind-blowing fact: they aren’t artificial digital manipulations. In his proccess of creating the photos, he only used Photoshop to correct the light.

For almost every day last month Malaysian artist/architect Hong Yi (who often goes by the nickname Red) created a fun illustration made with common (and occasionally not so common) food. Her parameters were simple: the image had to be comprised entirely of food and the only backdrop could be a white plate. With that in mind Yi set out to create landscapes, animals, homages to pop culture, and even a multi-frame telling of the three little pigs. The project, which still appears to be ongoing, has been documented heavily around the web, but if you haven’t seen it all head over to her Facebook and read an interview on designboom. Singapore-based artist Keng Lye creates near life-like sculptures of animals relying on little but paint, resin and a phenomenal sense of perspective. Lye slowly fills bowls, buckets, and boxes with alternating layers of acrylic paint and resin, creating aquatic animal life that looks so real it could almost pass for a photograph. While other artists of this genre use paper to demonstrate their ability to create ultra realistic painting, Lye use 3D “canvases” to create an even more impressive illusion.
